What is Green Cay Wetlands Guided Boardwalk Walk?
Green Cay Nature Center overlooks 100 acres of constructed wetland run by Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation. A 1.5-mile elevated boardwalk loops through the marsh with interpretive signs and QR codes you can scan for information about each zone. The nature center has a lecture hall, gift shop and an exhibit room with live animals.
The wetland is one of the easiest places in South Florida to see wading birds up close. Herons, egrets, ibis, gallinules, turtles and alligators are common, and winter brings migrating songbirds such as painted buntings. Guided walks with a county naturalist explain what you are seeing.
